Helping you live to your fullest potential.
Hormones play a pivotal role in our overall health, contributing to physical, emotional, and sexual well-being. When our hormone levels are not in alignment with who we are or how we want to live, it is understandable that we begin to feel discouraged or even depressed.

Fort Lauderdale Hormone Replacement Therapy (or HRT) offers a personalized solution to the far-reaching effects of hormonal imbalance. Men’s Med Spa, Avalor Vitality Clinics is designed to treat each man who walks through our door as a valued member of our family by providing thorough and attentive treatment plans geared toward the individual.

WHAT IS HORMONE REPLACEMENT
THERAPY FOR MEN?

Forms & function of HRT. HRT for men restores or enhances testosterone levels to enhance your health, physical performance, appearance, and sex drive. Hormone replacement therapy is commonly used to replenish dwindling testosterone levels associated with aging as well as a component of gender affirmation.

With proper hormone levels, you can achieve your best self and optimal quality of life. Hormone replacement therapy comes in a variety of forms, including testosterone injections, patches, and topical gels. Each method of administration offers its own benefits. Your expert provider will consider your goals, preferences, and medical history to help you determine which method will offer you the best treatment experience.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HRT?

ENHANCE YOUR OVERALL WELLNESS FOR A BETTER LIFE.

Hormone Replacement Therapy can dramatically impact your overall wellness by contributing to factors such as bone density, libido, blood cell production, muscle growth and function, facial and body hair production, and energy.

An alternative to testosterone replacement therapy is human growth hormone therapy (HGH) which is used to enhance athletic performance, build muscle mass, reduce body fat, and boost metabolism. For men who have experienced a decrease in testosterone due to aging, HRT can significantly reduce the risks of diabetes, heart disease, and death. By keeping your hormone levels within the normal range, you can help your body to function optimally, lowering metabolic syndrome risk factors and preventing chronic illnesses from developing.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY?

How to know if HRT is the right option for you. If the effects of hormone imbalance are impairing your ability to live a full and satisfying life, you are likely a candidate for HRT.

Most of our Ft. Lauderdale HRT patients experience symptoms such as mood swings, low sex drive, hair thinning, erectile dysfunction, trouble sleeping, weight gain, fatigue, and poor memory. Certain medical conditions may prevent some patients from receiving HRT, so it is essential that you discuss your medical history with your provider prior to treatment.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE FOR HRT?

There is no set age for beginning Hormone Replacement Therapy. After the age of 30, testosterone levels in men begin to decline by 1% each year. Typically, by around the age of 40, men begin to notice the effects.

This is why many men choose to begin HRT around this time. For patients who are undergoing HRT for masculinization, treatment typically begins much earlier. Many adolescent men begin their treatment around the age of 16 in order to experience puberty as their identified gender.

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY PROCEDURE

Injectable Testosterone Therapy

An increasingly popular method, testosterone can be injected through the skin to enter the body through the muscle. This method is provided under the direction of our staff and should not be sought by patients who had had strokes, heart attacks, heart disease, or high blood pressure, on certain medications, or by those whose female partners are pregnant, breastfeeding, or hoping to become pregnant. Be sure to discuss this and other health issues with us before treatment. Regular testing on testosterone levels in the blood are required during injectable therapy and will be performed by our staff at regularly scheduled visits.

Pellecome BHRT (Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy)

During your in-office visit, our staff will place hormone pellets subcutaneously, or under the skin. Through a small incision near the small of the back or on the upper buttocks, pellets are precisely placed to provide the body with the ideal hormone delivery system, allowing the body to absorb as needed. The treatment area is then covered with a small bandage, much like a minor cut or wound. We recommend avoiding strenuous lower body activity and submerging the treatment area for long periods of time (as in swimming pools, hot tubs, and bathtubs) for at least 48 hours or until the incision has healed.

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY RESULTS

FEEL LIKE YOURSELF. YOU WILL BEGIN TO NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU FEEL WITHIN JUST A FEW WEEKS OF BEGINNING TREATMENT.

However, your results will continue to progress for months or even years. Patients undergoing HRT for masculinization will achieve their full results after approximately two years. You can maintain your results with ongoing treatment.

Ultimately, you will notice an increase in your sexual drive and performance, hair growth, metabolism, cognitive function, emotional wellness, muscle health, energy, and noticeably enhanced confidence and quality of life. As you feel more and more like yourself, you will feel empowered to achieve your goals and make the most of every opportunity.

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY FAQS

Hormone replacement therapy is not painful. You will experience minor discomfort during the insertion process, but this can be prevented with topical anesthetic.

HRT is generally safe, and in many cases, can help prevent certain diseases. However, there are some risks involved. The most common side effects include acne, fluid retention, and increased urination. More serious side effects relating to reproductive organs and red blood vessels may also occur, though these are rare.

In most cases, stopping Hormone Replacement Therapy will simply cause your body to return to its state before treatment began. Some patients may experience withdrawal symptoms, so it is always a good idea to discuss your concerns with your provider prior to stopping treatment.
